Sad News to Report:  This was posted at Buffalo Chips & Chat by Larry Lee.  As more information becomes available, it will be posted on Jack Barnes' profile:

Today as I read the 02-04-2010 edition of the Hugo Daily News, it says that Jack Barnes passed away on February the 2nd. This is sad news but I know many of you would want to know. The funeral will be conducted by Hibbs Funeral Home in Choctaw, Ok on Feb. 6th.

Jack and I attended Murray State College after high School, spent a lot of time playing penny anti poker and fishing to pass the time while we were there. Sad news.

What that dancin' chicken up there is trying to say is a few photographs have been added to our site.  Cokey Wilson and Walt Leonard now have their senior mug shots posted on their profiles.  Yes, if you've not noticed, we have two classmates (er-um...older than we) who have joined the site. Be sure to check out their profiles. Also, a few pages have been added to The Broadcaster. Scroll to the bottom and find our 1966 Yearbook. Five senior pages have been added, but due to technical difficulties the fact that my stupid scanner won't cooperate, I'm unable to finish at this time.  Stay tuned for more.

If you have misplaced your yearbook, these pages can be copied.

Another blast from the past...

Please visit 2010 Party.
Please read what's there.
Please know this is not-a-for-sure thing yet.
Please fill out the registration form.
Please check that you will attend even though you aren't sure. By checking yes, this will give Larry and his crew an idea who is interested.
This information can be edited as late as May 1 when you know for sure if you can really be there.

Conversations are going on at Buffalo Chips and Chat.

Only 149 some-odd days left until June 4 & 5 !
What's June 4 & 5 ?
Hugo Homecoming !
Many classmates have asked if our class will have a reunion this year, even though it's not an "anniversary-type" reunion.
There is no reason not to have one, BUT it does have to be planned.
For instance, the first thing that has to be done is locate a place.  Larry Lee called about reserving a cabin at the lake again, and there was only ONE available !
He has posted information at:
Buffalo Chips & Chat ~ Reunion 2010
Here's the deal Lucille...Many of you are probably tired of being herded like cats by the likes of me. SO, who wants to help 'ol Larry out and plan this thing ? Do I hear any volunteers ?  If so, get yourself over to Buffalo Chips & Chat and help with the planning.  Earl will continue to post the news about the reunion here so everyone can keep up with what's going on.
Step 1: Go to BC&C to read what's already been posted.
Step 2:  Go find a 2010 calendar and mark June 4 & 5  for Hugo69 Reunion.
Step 3: Check out the new link: 2010 Party

Step 4: Have a great day !  Earl says so !

Hundreds  Many  Several  A few of you have been patiently waiting on the instructions for how to post a video at Buffalo Chips & Chat.  Well, they have been posted under:
FAVORITE VIDEOS~Directions for Posting Videos at BC&C

***************

Carla was the first to update her profile in 2010 ! You Go Girl ! Check out her new pics.  You can navigate to her page by just clicking on her name in the Profile Updates Box. She now has a gold star by her name.

UPDATE: Not only has she updated her profile, but just today, she posted several reunion photos over at BC&C...go take a look-see. Kudos to Carla for following the directions and sharing these with us.  There are more of you with photos...please share them on the Reunion Photos Forum.

Johnna has 'been spotted' over at the Message Forum !

Did you know this about our principal ?

Jim Ellis has unearthed  a plethora of information.  Above is an example.  This type of memorabilia will be posted at BC&C under the Forum:  Archives

If one of your New Year's Resolutions is to clean out dresser drawers and attics and garages and sheds and closets and under-your-bed...OK. You get the picture, please post it at Buffalo Chips & Chat ~ Archives (Please create a new TOPIC under the Archives Forum.)  You can subscribe to the Forum and receive e-mail notifications when new subject matter is posted. Contact me if you have any questions, and I'll send them to Jimboreeheehee or LarryLarry, or 'Ol Son.

One question:  Does anyone remember having classes with this person, er um...donkey ?

One comment:  He must have skipped all his spelling classes.

*****************

The Governor of Oklahoma has officially proclaimed that the first New Year's Resolution on your list to be :

1.   Update my profile on Hugo69
(If there is not a gold star by your name on the Classmate Profile list, this means YOU !)

OK, that's not exactly true, but it's still a good idea!!

So go to your closet and get down that box of old pictures and clippings and get busy.

If you need some music to get you in the mood, the Eagles just happened to stop by and they left an old song that should help you.  It's over there at "This Just In"

And, if you'll notice on the Classmate Profiles page, many of our classmates do not have "gold stars" by their names anymore. Remember peer pressure?  When the teacher would post names on the wall and place gold stars by the names of overachievers??  Go check out that page to see if you still have a gold star by your name. If you don't, that means you haven't updated your profile in SIX, count them 1-2-3-4-5-6 months. Now get busy and update those profiles before you begin receiving harrassing e-mails.

We need more of these "old" newspaper clippings. Perhaps when you're making your list of New Year's Resolutions, you might add:
1.  Look through old boxes for school year memorabilia and either post what  you find on your profile, or e-mail to Kathy for all to enjoy ! Thanks Jimboreeheehee for another one !  Seems as though Gary was the only one to know where the camera was.

By now, most of you have figured out that the last message is posted on the right hand column of BC&C.  To find earlier posts, just click on The Forum, and all Topics will be listed there.  This is a much easier way to find information like addresses notifications, etc., rather than scrolling back through 10 pages of stories about hobos, gypsies, and bride dolls on the Message Forum. (Remember: BC&C is just in outline form.)

Our Veterans...

Gordon Allen, William Taylor, Billy Billings, Mark Cannon, Billy Nowell, Ernest Carlile, Randy Short, Paul Lewis, and Jonny Clark.

Please visit the Honors and Tributes page for an updated list of all our classmates who served in the military.  Also, sometime this week, visit their profiles and either send them an e-mail or leave a public message of thanks for these gentlemen.

So, once your arrive at the site, go to Live Chat to see if anyone is on ~OR~ before leaving the site, go to Live Chat.  In order for this to work, you must coordinate your times and who you want to chat with so that they are on the link, too.

Buffalo Chips & Chat !  Thanks to everyone who has been using BC&C. Several of you have not only been reading here, but you have even posted your own replies and added topics.

This works just like an outline. Remember Mrs. Grayson and Mr. Petty and Mrs. Spear and Mrs. Webb's classes?  Didn't we learn how to write an outline in one of their classes?

There is a Forum. Under each Forum is a Topic. You have the option to create a new Topic OR you can reply to a Topic already there. Just play with it. You won't blow up our website. If you don't like what you've written, there is a delete button.

You can "subscribe" to the thread by clicking that little circle on the first page of BC&C so that you don't have to look at every Forum or Topic to see what's being said about you.

The newest posts always appear in the right-hand column.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

MONEY ! MONEY !  MONEY !

Our host, Class Creator, will donate $50.00 to us for every new class that sets up a website that we have referred to them.  So, if you notice unfamiliar names at the bottom of the Classmate Profile page, it might possibly be someone who is considering starting their own website. If this happens, that $50.00 will be used to help pay for our Website and Domain Name (link on side bar explaining our cost).  At the very bottom of this page is the information about Class Creator. If you know someone who is planning a reunion, tell them to visit our Home Page and click the Class Creator link at the bottom of this page. We might just earn $50.00 !

Welcome to the HUGO HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1969 web-site. It is a work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis. Here are a few reasons that it was created:

1)  to assist in planning our 40th reunion (and any upcoming get-togethers and future reunions)
2)  to locate friends who are hiding from us and let them know about our reunion
3)  to reacquaint ourselves with each other so that we recognize each other in June
4)  to post photos of the reunion for those who could not attend

The web-site and reunion cannot be successful without everyone's participation.

To protect your personal information, your registration includes an option that allows only registered classmates to view your profile. If this option is selected, search engines and the general public WILL be blocked from accessing your information. Any registered classmate who is logged in, however, WILL be able to view ALL classmate profiles.

Class Creator, our site host, assures us that our site will NOT be subject to advertising, that information posted on our site will NOT be sold or rented to a third party--all information is strictly confidential, and that their spam protection system WILL protect us from spam.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solely, covertly be an integral part of planning a successful 40th reunion.  Your computer will self-destruct in five minutes if you do not add to your profile and sign up to attend.

To those who are just visiting and may be planning a reunion, if you do not have a web-site, may I suggest that you RUN, don't walk, to the Class Creator link at the bottom of this page. This will take you to a step-by-step video that is easy to use. The technical support that you will receive is personal and faster than the speed of lightning. Brad and his crew are there to help you create a tool that will insure a successful reunion.

Sincerely,
Kathy Smith Schmoldt
