JUNE 2014 . . . FIVE years ago !

JUNE 2004 FIFTEEN Years ago !

Shannon McRee's service is Saturday, January 5, at the Millerton Assembly of God.

One of Shannon's last posts. May 2018 . . .

(You can find more of his posts on our Message Forum . . . Shannon certainly did add so much to our website with his words of wit and wisdom ! He will certainly be missed.)

Thanks guys, Tressa, Mary Jane, Carla, David, Joetta, and everybody for all the words of support here and on Facebook. Back in the day, times were so different that while I wanted to shout Susans birth annousement from the roofs of Hugo, get married, settle down and raise my daughter, alas, that was not to be. It instead became one of the best kept of secrets between me, Ernie, Paul and maybe one or two others. If someone had told me  that in less than 50 years I would be anouncing Susans birth publically, here and on Facebook I would have recomended the name of a good psychiatrist. How times have changed! If they had told me I would be announcing the birth of a beautiful 48 year old daughter, mother, and grandmother, I would have reccomended a good long term mental institution. By telling the story of the prodigal daughter, I feel like weight the size of a 59 Caddy has been lifted off of me, Hopefully, now, i'll be a bit less of a grumpy A hole to the world. I'm hoping to be able to get Susan, Leah (Eddies other daughter) and myself together soon for a face to face meeting either at Hugo, Paris or Durant, They are both very buisy ladies, me, I'm real flexable on schedules!

 Again, Thanks everybody!

Even though Allie is not one of our 1969 classmates, he is near and dear to many of us at HHS.

Allie will be inducted into the OTCA Hall of Fame during a ceremony February 16, at the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club in Edmond. Now retired, Allie spent 42 years in the coaching business--35 of them at Byng, where he coached boys basketball and tennis. For 34 years, he was the junior high and high school boys and girls tennis coach.

With the help of his wife, Kim, Allie started the tennis program at Byng almost from scratch.

Allie says, "We DID build a tennis program at Byng. Our narrative for success is similiar to my favorite poem, "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost, because we took the high road. Simply put, there are no shortcuts to any place worth going,"

ALLIE ! From the Hugo HIgh School Class of 1969 . . . Congratulations.  We are proud and honored to know you.

Several of our classmates have been working on planning our reunion for THIS year . . .2019.

FIFTY years.  Unbelievable !

These website members have outdated e-mail addresses. If you are in contact with any of them, would you please let them know we will be using several means of communication to relay information about the reunion. One of them will be through the website, and in order to see the updates, they will need to update their contact information.  If anyone has problems signing in, please contact Kathy Smith.

Even though these are not HHS 1969 graduates, several of these students who attended Eugene Field Elementary are probably recognized by some of you . . . maybe little brothers or sisters.
Mr. Moore was the principal and Mrs. Bertha Lee Smith (Kathy's mom) was the teacher.

We have lost contact with these classmates and friends of our site. If you have a way to contact them, please let them know that if they want 'back on' the site, I can help them update their profile page.

Hugo High School Show Choir Booster Club . . .

We don't have a photo of the boys' show choir 'outfits,' but donations will be used to purchase those, too.

AND, music will be purchased with the money !

Dear Classmates and Friends of Hugo69 . . .

This is such a worthwhile 'campaign,' so if you're interested in helping out, please send donations to:

Carla Whitworth Rabon

Dear Hugo,
I am asking for citizens and businesses of Hugo to help me clothe my Show Choir "The Hugo High Notes". I need to order them soon so they can be ready for the next school year. My friend, Sherre Fountain Wolfe, came up with the idea of "Dress A Star" campaign. Any person or business can sign up to purchase the outfit for one choir member. The cost for one dress and shoes for the girls is $150. The cost for the shirt, suit coat, pants, and shoes for a boy is $130. I have 10 girls and 8 boys who need an outfit. Budget cuts across the state have left us without any start up money. We will perform in the community as often as possible. Please contact me at if you are interested in buying all or part of our "Dress A Star" campaign. All sponsors will be publicly thanked and included on our programs. I will personally pick up your donation and deliver it to our office. Thanks in advance for your help.

Please spread the word.

Welcome to the HUGO HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1969 web-site. It is a work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis. Here are a few reasons that it was created:

 1)  to assist in planning our  reunions  and any Hugo Supper Club events
2)  to locate friends who are hiding from us and let them know about our reunion
3)  to reacquaint ourselves with each other so that we recognize each other
4)  to post photos of reunions and other events for those who could not attend

The web-site and reunion cannot be successful without everyone's participation.

To protect your personal information, your registration includes an option that allows only registered classmates to view your profile. If this option is selected, search engines and the general public WILL be blocked from accessing your information. Any registered classmate who is logged in, however, WILL be able to view ALL classmate profiles.

Class Creator, our site host, assures us that our site will NOT be subject to advertising, that information posted on our site will NOT be sold or rented to a third party--all information is strictly confidential, and that their spam protection system WILL protect us from spam.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solely, covertly be an integral part of planning a successful 40th reunion.  Your computer will self-destruct in five minutes if you do not add to your profile and sign up to attend.

To those who are just visiting and may be planning a reunion, if you do not have a web-site, may I suggest that you RUN, don't walk, to the Class Creator link at the bottom of this page. This will take you to a step-by-step video that is easy to use. The technical support that you will receive is personal and faster than the speed of lightning. Brad and his crew are there to help you create a tool that will insure a successful reunion.
