Dear Hugo,
I am asking for citizens and businesses of Hugo to help me clothe my Show Choir "The Hugo High Notes". I need to order them soon so they can be ready for the next school year. My friend, Sherre Fountain Wolfe, came up with the idea of "Dress A Star" campaign. Any person or business can sign up to purchase the outfit for one choir member. The cost for one dress and shoes for the girls is $150. The cost for the shirt, suit coat, pants, and shoes for a boy is $130. I have 10 girls and 8 boys who need an outfit. Budget cuts across the state have left us without any start up money. We will perform in the community as often as possible. Please contact me at carlarabon@gmail.com if you are interested in buying all or part of our "Dress A Star" campaign. All sponsors will be publicly thanked and included on our programs. I will personally pick up your donation and deliver it to our office. Thanks in advance for your help.

Please spread the word.

Visitation for Ronald will be April 16, 2:00-5:00 p.m., at Prater, Lampton, Mills, and Coffey Funeral Home Chapel 216 E. Jackson. His obituary will be in the Hugo Newspaper and also on the funeral home's website.

Ronald Charles Popchoke  (1951-2016)

Ronald Charles Popchoke, 64, of Bemus Point, New York passed away from this life on March 22, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio, after a brief but devastating illness. Ronald was born on April 13, 1951 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Odell and Juanita (Beavers) Popchoke.

Ronald was a lifelong member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ in Hugo. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1969 at which point he went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ronald married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marsha Fluellen on December 28, 1973.

Ronald began his career with Alstom-G.E. in 1978 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and enjoyed a flourishing career with this company. As Senior Construction Manager, he oversaw the construction of power plants all over the United States. With an unparalleled work ethic and unwavering pride, Ronald always provided exceptional quality in his work and in the work of those that he managed. His work ethic could only be matched by the love that he had for his family. Ronald was a kind, generous and compassionate husband, father and friend. His memory will always be cherished by those that knew him.

In addition to his wife, Marsha, Ronald is survived by a daughter Michelle (Travis) Wood and grandchildren, Tessa and Grady, all of Rochester, New York, and a daughter, Leslie Popchoke of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by nieces Lisa (Darren) Callahan and Jenny Popchoke, both of Atlanta, Georgia. Ronald leaves behind a host of other friends and relatives, most notably Bruce and Kim Usher of Atoka, Oklahoma and Milo Miles of Tyler, Texas.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Popchoke.

Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. Services and burial will take place in Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospital of Michigan, 800 S. Washington Ave. Saginaw, Michigan 48601, where Ronald received excellent care during his illness.

Welcome to the HUGO HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1969 web-site. It is a work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis. Here are a few reasons that it was created:

 1)  to assist in planning our  reunions  and any Hugo Supper Club events
2)  to locate friends who are hiding from us and let them know about our reunion
3)  to reacquaint ourselves with each other so that we recognize each other
4)  to post photos of reunions and other events for those who could not attend

The web-site and reunion cannot be successful without everyone's participation.

To protect your personal information, your registration includes an option that allows only registered classmates to view your profile. If this option is selected, search engines and the general public WILL be blocked from accessing your information. Any registered classmate who is logged in, however, WILL be able to view ALL classmate profiles.

Class Creator, our site host, assures us that our site will NOT be subject to advertising, that information posted on our site will NOT be sold or rented to a third party--all information is strictly confidential, and that their spam protection system WILL protect us from spam.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solely, covertly be an integral part of planning a successful 40th reunion.  Your computer will self-destruct in five minutes if you do not add to your profile and sign up to attend.

To those who are just visiting and may be planning a reunion, if you do not have a web-site, may I suggest that you RUN, don't walk, to the Class Creator link at the bottom of this page. This will take you to a step-by-step video that is easy to use. The technical support that you will receive is personal and faster than the speed of lightning. Brad and his crew are there to help you create a tool that will insure a successful reunion.

Sincerely,
Kathy Smith Schmoldt
