Dear HHS69 Classmates:

This letter has been mailed to all our classmates that we have contact information for.  Please be watching for it in your mailboxes:  (Scroll down for photo of the T-Shirt.)

Fifty years ago this month, our class said goodbye to the halls of HHS. WOW! To celebrate that occasion, the reunion committee has spent many hours attempting to locate each of you and plan a very special couple of days and nights in the Hugo of yesterday. As the date quickly approaches, it is time to finalize our plans and give you additional information for the reunion weekend. It’s important to have commitments from each of you in order to proceed with securing our spaces to gather.

The dates for our reunion are Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2, 2019.

On Friday at 5:30 pm  we will kick off our weekend with a “We’re Still Loyal” tailgate supper at Hugo’s “Buffalo Grill” (203 West Jackson). A buffet will be served to the class of 1969 (dinner and a drink are included with the cost of registration; adult beverages will be available for purchase ). Before dinner, you can register and pick up your t-shirt. We will plan to wear them to the game to show our spirit. There will NOT be extras, so plan ahead and order using the attached form.

Around  7:00 pm we will head to the Gene Nesbit Football Stadium to cheer our Buffaloes on to a stunning victory. ( Included in the cost of registration )

After the game, you are invited to meet back at the “Buffalo Grill” for “Teen-ior Town” and time to socialize (legally, off the streets of Hugo)

Saturday we will begin and end our day at the “Choctaw Casino and Resort” in  the “Firehouse Grill” a private conference room reserved for the Class of 1969. (1516 Hyw 271 South)

9:00am til about 10:30am complimentary pastries and coffee will be served in the “Firehouse Grill” at the Casino. (Full breakfast buffet is available for $10 at the Casino if you’d rather).

10:30am    Tour of the new Hugo High School building (Time is not confirmed yet)

At 11:45 am please meet at the First Methodist Church in Hugo for our class picture ( Bring your t-shirt to wear over your clothes for one of the shots.)

Lunch is on your own, so grab some old friends and head to one of the hot spots in Hugo for a bite.

The  Firehouse Grill private room will be open to us again anytime after 2:30 pm to just hang out and visit.

Our banquet dinner on Saturday night  (Nov. 2) will be in the “Firehouse Grill” at the Choctaw Casino beginning at 5:30pm (buffet starts at 6:00) This is offered to us through the Casino and you will need to pay the ($25) cost charged for this dinner when you go through the buffet line. It is NOT included with the registration fee.

The theme for the night is “1000 STORIES”. At past reunions, there were so many of you with such great stories to tell…funny things about other classmates, or incidents that happened during our school years. We ask (BEG) you to think of something you can share at the banquet so all of our stories can be told and good/bad times remembered. This is your night to shine, to share, and to remember a different time when we were young, foolish and happy!

Places to stay:

A special rate for rooms in the Casino or in their new “Tower Building” is being given to our class. Ask for HHS class of ’69 special rate (580) 326-8397

Cabins may be available at Hugo Lake State Park (580) 326-0303

Our guest photographer and classmate, Kathy Smith Schmoldt, will create a slideshow of memories for us. PLEASE go through old scrapbooks, boxes and drawers to find any pictures you would like to include that will help tell our stories. Send pictures of yourself and your family after graduation, too…about 10 or so years later; important pictures to show something about you after we left HHS. Take a picture of your pictures on your phones, then email them  to her or post them on YOUR PROFILE on our website ( and let Kathy know they are there. (Her e-mail address is posted on our Message Forum.)

The sooner you can get these to her the better…please please!!!!

Our class would like to commemorate our 50th Reunion with a donation made to Hugo High School. We are still waiting for a list of things they would like for us to consider, so there is not a definite gift at this early date. Our goal is to raise $2000 (+)

WE WILL COLLECT ALL DONATIONS DURING OUR REUNION WEEKEND, so you don’t need to send with your registration.

Sherre Fountain Wolfe opened a bank account for our class so we can pay all of our bills with a check that is not from anyone’s personal account. If there is any money left after the costs of this weekend, we will add this amount to the donation from the Class of ’69 to HHS.

Our t-shirts were designed by Charla Foley Moore and are available to order now through September 21, 2019. These are made to order, so there will NOT be extras at the reunion.

PLEASE ___X___ WHICH ACTIVITIES YOU WILL ATTEND and how many are coming

SEND THIS REGISTRATION FORM AND YOUR CHECK TO COVER THE COST OF REGISTRATION  ($25 per person) AND THE T-SHIRT ($15 each, long or short sleeve).   (DON’T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR SIZE.) Send as soon as you can, but no later than Sept 21.

Please start going through those old photo albums and boxes to find these treasures.
The easiest way to get them to Kathy is to just take a picture of the picture with your cell phone and e-mail them to her. OR you can post them on your profile page . . .just be sure to let her know they've been posted.

These will be used for our slide show. We also need a current photo of you to be placed next to your senior picture. Just take a selfie and send it.

JUNE 2004 FIFTEEN Years ago !

Even though Allie is not one of our 1969 classmates, he is near and dear to many of us at HHS.

Allie will be inducted into the OTCA Hall of Fame during a ceremony February 16, at the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club in Edmond. Now retired, Allie spent 42 years in the coaching business--35 of them at Byng, where he coached boys basketball and tennis. For 34 years, he was the junior high and high school boys and girls tennis coach.

With the help of his wife, Kim, Allie started the tennis program at Byng almost from scratch.

Allie says, "We DID build a tennis program at Byng. Our narrative for success is similiar to my favorite poem, "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost, because we took the high road. Simply put, there are no shortcuts to any place worth going,"

ALLIE ! From the Hugo HIgh School Class of 1969 . . . Congratulations.  We are proud and honored to know you.

Several of our classmates have been working on planning our reunion for THIS year . . .2019.

FIFTY years.  Unbelievable !

These website members have outdated e-mail addresses. If you are in contact with any of them, would you please let them know we will be using several means of communication to relay information about the reunion. One of them will be through the website, and in order to see the updates, they will need to update their contact information.  If anyone has problems signing in, please contact Kathy Smith.

Even though these are not HHS 1969 graduates, several of these students who attended Eugene Field Elementary are probably recognized by some of you . . . maybe little brothers or sisters.
Mr. Moore was the principal and Mrs. Bertha Lee Smith (Kathy's mom) was the teacher.

We have lost contact with these classmates and friends of our site. If you have a way to contact them, please let them know that if they want 'back on' the site, I can help them update their profile page.

Welcome to the HUGO HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1969 web-site. It is a work-in-progress and will be updated on a regular basis. Here are a few reasons that it was created:

 1)  to assist in planning our  reunions  and any Hugo Supper Club events
2)  to locate friends who are hiding from us and let them know about our reunion
3)  to reacquaint ourselves with each other so that we recognize each other
4)  to post photos of reunions and other events for those who could not attend

The web-site and reunion cannot be successful without everyone's participation.

To protect your personal information, your registration includes an option that allows only registered classmates to view your profile. If this option is selected, search engines and the general public WILL be blocked from accessing your information. Any registered classmate who is logged in, however, WILL be able to view ALL classmate profiles.

Class Creator, our site host, assures us that our site will NOT be subject to advertising, that information posted on our site will NOT be sold or rented to a third party--all information is strictly confidential, and that their spam protection system WILL protect us from spam.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solely, covertly be an integral part of planning a successful 40th reunion.  Your computer will self-destruct in five minutes if you do not add to your profile and sign up to attend.

To those who are just visiting and may be planning a reunion, if you do not have a web-site, may I suggest that you RUN, don't walk, to the Class Creator link at the bottom of this page. This will take you to a step-by-step video that is easy to use. The technical support that you will receive is personal and faster than the speed of lightning. Brad and his crew are there to help you create a tool that will insure a successful reunion.
